Located on Lady Denman Drive, easily accessible from the Tuggeranong Parkway and major arterial roads connecting Belconnen and Woden.
The zoo is situated near Scrivener Dam, with clear brown tourist signage indicating the turn-off.
The entry road is sealed bitumen, suitable for all vehicle types, including coaches and caravans.

The majority of the main pathways are sealed with bitumen or concrete, providing a smooth surface for walking.
The zoo grounds are extensive (25 hectares) and include some natural undulations; while most areas are accessible, some sections feature steeper inclines.
An "Adventure Trail" map is available to guide wheelchair users and parents with prams along the most accessible routes, avoiding difficult slopes or gravel paths.
The aquarium building features flat, level flooring with ramp access where necessary.
