The Maldon Historic Reserve Butts Camping Area has shady trees, picnic tables, fire pits and flushing toilets, and the occasional kangaroo. It's around 2-3 KLM out of the centre of Maldon, in its northern suburbs but surrounded by bush, and has proper flushing toilets and fire pits with swing over hotplates. When staying here, you can try finding a bit of alluvial Gold, or pop up to Mt Tarrengower with your camera. Be sure to checkout the township of Maldon itself, and have your camera ready.
