Looks a little quiet in here so I'll add a new one, we are about to start a 3 year trip of the states and territories and the big lap, the car is a 1998 GU TI patrol, LPG/petrol auto with all the good electric stuff, Redarc tow-pro, 2 battery system with 120ah battery for the fridge and charging duties, 50mm lift, tinted windows and sheepskin seatcovers, it came with canvas seatcovers but they make your bum feel like your sitting on a wooden plank after some time in the seats, UHF and the needed spotlights for daylight driving (we usually only travel daylight hours so just in case jobs).
The caravan is a 1982 Roadmaster 17'5" twin axle with shower and toilet double bed and a kitchen with lounge up front, comfort Is good and has been given a new lease on life with a fit out in all areas, we like it and next year a local company Kulkyne Campers have developed an inbuilt generator to fit vans and motorhomes so one of those is being fitted to make life a little easier than dragging out the portable genie, also helps the solar stuff do its job charging the batteries.
All up the entire rig from front of the car to the back of the caravan has cost less than 20 grand, a lot cheaper than 60 grand for a car and 70 grand for a van and they do the same job and the system is pretty self sufficient so that makes the trip so much easier and cheaper.
See you out on the road and we hope to meet and chat with you all.

Looks like you have a great set up going for you there.

II don;t know anything about the Kulkyne 2.0kVA - Inverter Generator, but it looks good on paper, and I do like Yamaha Engines.. (I used to ride a few of the two wheeled engined Yamaha's many years ago) :woohoo:

I don't advertise any businesses at all but I think that these guys are actually doing a good thing, go to the big name guys and get your wallet lightened real fast, for example, a redarc tow pro + redarc charger/isolator dual twin battery system from the big names + installation was 2 grand minus a couple of bucks and they wanted to sell me second isolator, the guys at Kulkyne did mine with the same branded gear for 500 less and told me I did not need separate second isolator as well, saved me some bucks, as I said I don't normally do this and I have no affiliation with them but if you're in the market or some gear give them a go.
The only thing with the generator is that it can't be hooked up in parallel with another one, that's the only real difference between the Yamaha and the Kulkyne one, other than that it is a Yamaha generator.
