Edward River Bridge Camping Area

Set along the tranquil banks of the Edward River near Mathoura, NSW, the Edward River Bridge Camping Area is a fantastic free camping spot for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Perfect for fishing, kayaking, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water, this riverside campsite is well set up with essential facilities including a public toilet block, rubbish bins, picnic tables, fixed fireplaces, and BBQ facilities (BYO firewood).

Accessed via an unsealed gravel road, the site is best suited for tents, campervans, and small vehicles—not recommended for caravans or big rigs. While there's no mains power or drinking water available, creek water is nearby (treat before use). The area provides plenty of shade and space for short walks. Pets are welcome (conditions apply), and fishing spots are within easy reach. An excellent off-the-beaten-track escape for self-contained campers looking to enjoy the river and recharge in nature.

Our comprehensive map of New South Wales is fully operational, and you can comment on any of the entries in our dedicated camping forum section for the Australian Capital Territory.
