Van Virgins was created by vince01
This is our first caravan - a Regal Desert Series 4x4, comfortable 18' unit for the two of us.
Has 400watts of solar on the roof to charge three Panasonic 100Ah batteries which for us is great as we do like our free camping

Our tow tug is an old 1992 Ford Maverick TD42 turbocharged by turboglides GT28, same used in the UD trucks
We aren't the fastest on the road but we do like to smell the roses on the way.

Cheers
Vince

Hi Vince, looks like a very capable setup. Just a query what tyres are you running on the Maverick, they look like go anywhere material.

Hi Macquarie
They are Mickey Thompson MTZ 33x12.5x15, a great off road tyre but a little rugged for driving on the black top which is what we mainly do now.

Looks like you intend to do a bit of off the tarmac driving in the near future.

We sold our camper trailer and did a lot of off road and secluded camping and these tyres did a great job getting us there, I like the strength and performance of Mickey Thomson off road tyres
Now we have the caravan it is a new adventure for us and when these tyres are worn and gone I will replace them with something less aggressive and more suited to our new plans. Possibly the Sumitomo A/T tyre of same dimension 33x12.5x15 another good tyre with good mileage.
