Latrobe River – Rosedale to Lake Wellington

Due to the upstream power station, the water is slightly warmer than in nearby waters and subject to flood. Large, fast, deep and dirty with a mud bottom. Contains mainly carp up to 5kg and eels. Some black fish, redfin to 1kg and brown trout up to 1.4kg and also some good bream, estuary perch and yellow-eyed mullet at selected times. The Latrobe River is easily accessible at Willow Park Rosedale and Longford, near its junction with the Thomson River. Downstream from the historic Swing Bridge at Sale, many excellent spots are available with easy vehicle access.
