My thoughts about Free Camping at Rest Areas in Australia.

I've been asked my thoughts about free camping at rest areas that are listed here on our website.

Personally I have no problems with this option, as an overnight stopover,
By pulling over at unexpected and random places along the way, I found a few incredible places they captivated me for a day or two longer than intended, and a few I will be returning to on my next venture into the almost wild outdoors. :woohoo:

On a more sober note:
I believe as long as you feel secure where you have chosen to stop for the night, there should not be any problems.
I.E No piles of empty beer bottles and heaps of rubbish on-site.

If on the other-hand your not sure about your overnight stopover location, you should leave your caravan hitched to your tug, this will ensure a swift getaway if needed.

You must of cause observe any camping and camp fire restrictions at your Rest Area locations. Apart from that, its a great way to explore Australia on the cheap.

Free Camping at rest areas is definitely for me.
